Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family and the benefits of community service. First family he is the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. A second reason was his father was the only of three brothers who played with Oklahoma. All three of them were All-Americans. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the US. In his three years as a starter Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. In his role as a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received an award for his third time in the year 1975. Selmon graduated with a degree from the university of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in college. After college, he moved in Tampa and played for nine years with the Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro 3 times. After that, he began his professional career. He began his career in 1988. worked as an Account Relations Officer at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's 10 outstanding young males. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 7-foot-2. In his time at college, he was the captain of the team of 1975. In 1993, Roy joined at the University of South Florida's sports department as its Director of Athletics as an associate. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988 the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave its Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
