Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. Her vivid imagination was a great way to get away from the pressures of daily life. Songs were written by her before she was able to write and read. She got her first guitar when she was just 8 years old and started performing on an Knoxville Tenn radio station at age eleven. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. At the age of 16, she was able to establish herself within the school community but her dream was greater. The singer moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on the show he had syndicated to television. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She accepted her job in 1967. But she resigned from the show in 1974, as her own songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Love You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the number. #1 spot following their broke up. In 1974, Parton's song I Will Always Love You peaked at the No.
