Anna Silk is a Fredericton native and the child of Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of skills, such as being able to act, direct and produce plays, as well as write them, teach, and be Director of Drama for St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton. She is the child of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" who hails originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending the rehearsals of performances as a kid and watching her mom at work. When she was a child, she was featured in a variety of commercials. Anna moved to Toronto, Ontario, in order to pursue acting. In the decade which followed, she made the move to Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman was introduced to Anna in Los Angeles at an acting training workshop held in 2007. They got engaged in the year 2009.
