Kelly Clarkson

KellyKelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born April 24, 1982, Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American performer, songwriter and TV host who became known as a pop-rock star after her win in the TV talent competition American Idol in 2002. Clarkson was raised at Burleson (Texas) which is a suburb near Fort Worth. Her vocal talents were recognized when she was just seven years old by the choir teacher of her school. When she graduated from high school, Clarkson relocated for a visit to Los Angeles to try to get into the showbiz. When she returned to Texas in 2002, the singer competed on the The Fox Broadcasting Corporation's American Idol. This singing competition gave viewers the chance to decide which singer they liked best. Clarkson was well-liked by viewers due to her captivating vocals and humorous style. Clarkson won $1 million, and also a contract recording deal in partnership with RCA for her winnings.
