Lars Mikkelsen-3-1024x657Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He was a character in the drama series The Killing. Copenhagen mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing,[1The Killing, Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third series of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix and Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he received the Reumert Prize of Honour At the age of 27 He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he graduated in 1995. He was also featured in The Killing's drama series. [1] He then played in Borgen III and Those Who Kill, which were both critically well-known Danish drama series. He was also a key role in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock, where he played blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards he played the president of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his performance in Danish TV drama Herrens Veje,which was broadcast in the UK in the year 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
